[...] Part of my parenting style has been co-sleeping. It was not a plan I had just what felt right. When B was 4mos Mike wanted to put him in the crib so Mike could get some sleep. I burst into tears and it lasted about 20 minutes. Around 10 months I’m pretty sure B told us to put him in his own bed. If you know B this is probably true. [...]

Keep speaking the truth - it's the only thing that will keep us all sane. It doesn't need to be any harder, that's for sure. I'm glad you got my back - it's mutual!

Kate! Glad we could inspire more guilt, our grandmother would be proud!
But seriously, darling, you're amazing. Chaos is every kid's first name. Our stay-at-home lives are not any crazier than our mother's or mother's mother's generation, but they had the whole neighborhood doing the same work — and sharing the misery and the trips to the ER. Today's SAHers are a lonely lot. I'm here for you in spirit! Keep going!!

I agree with Haley about seeing humor in stressful situations. If we take ourselves too seriously, and can't move forward through the tough times, we get stuck. We have to show our children how to bounce back after a challenge. Here's to the moms and dads and caring adults who show our children positives AND negatives in life. That's what we're preparing them for anyway, isn't it?

I find it is best to laugh so I don't cry. Being able to see the humor in a stressful situation is an important life skill. Any parent who hasn't been there yet, will be there. Take care.
